IDEA: 1 Special UFO npc

This NPC should be very smart and be very well equipped to fight even veterans........and it should give you:

50k Xp
5k Rep +/- depending what ur rep is at the time
10 Million credits

only 1 random UFO per galaxy

Type: (Name Of Ship)

Shields: 18,000

Primary Weapon: any

Special Weapon: Laser Death Beam (fires a homing laser that damages a ship by 400 shields and using 300 energy per shot)

Maximum Speed: 10 kps

Turning: 10 dps

Thrusting: 10 kps^2

Energy Regen: 8 twps

Hardware Slots: 10
if its too powerful help me balance it out

but this Ship is essentially supposed to be hard to beat.....for anyone

its supposed to be a special ship.........that 1 npc has.......no one can get......and its something that you must be VERY lucky to come by and or VERY lucky to destroy

Powerful NPC which introduces more variety/challenge to the game, yet has a low risk of being imbalancing.

My Responce:
Brilliant idea, and hopefully this kind of thing (unattainable variety in NPCs) sets off some of Toonces' creativity, and makes SGE a much more interesting/fun game. :mrgreen:

superpowerful NPC in.... A UFO? Awesome! But how to stop that secondary... I'll start experimenting after this gets implemented.

I found 4-5 in a sys, it was fun as hell.
Bring back NPC mobs!

im wondering if this is a good idea.......should i put up a poll......or should madace do that??? it just hit me sometime last night (dont remember what i was doing though) but then it came up and was BRILLIANT i thought.........this would be a great i would probably play again just to hunt this sucker down.....

maybe this Npc can have 3 smart followers in the igs (this is rare because he is usually alone)

Make the UFO ship a cube. Your ship does not get blown up by it, your ship gets assimilated into its escort fleet. The longer the ship is outthere the harder it is to kill.

After you blow up the main ship you can still have the fun of takeing out the escorsts.

Newb Shouts: Holy BBQ I just lost my ship tp that damn cube. It has 20 ISC's and 18 Seths. Well the universe is doomed.

Yea no assimilation that would be uber to the tenth power unbalenced. Although it would make a good AI experiment to see how long a few of these uberships can last against each other all the while assimilation other NPC's I would wonder which one would last.

join a server that has 250 or more npcs lol

i came across a mob of 43 reds in armaggedon the other night altho they all spamed me soon as i came out of the warp with emp's and nukes lol had to nuke up and reship to go kill them :P but i been seeing at least 10-15 2-3 times a day there lol but it is a short battle rebang with 300 npcs.

If your going to have such a powerful NPC it shouldn't engage people below a certain rank unless provoked. If it randomly attacks anyone then the players in inferior starter ships and scouts wouldn't stand a chance. They have enough issues avoiding the "regular" players when they start the game.

Most NPC seem to hover more frequently near hubs in the galaxy so perhaps they should roam outside the normal range of places we normally see NPC. That way finding them isn't so predictable.

You know I actually love that idea. That would rock. whenever a ship's assimilated give them a more powerful laser beam secondary or somethin so all the noobs caught by it actually make a decent addition to the fleet.
If the fleet gets too big it splits in half and goes separate ways as well. *drool*

BTW this is an awesome thread revival seriously I want an idea like this implemented.
