Hmm perhaps we can put a word filter in the game if it keeps up.

If you put in a filter please make it less sensitive. Only filter the very worst, so anger, aggravation and noobiness can still be addressed without going over the line. Expression in game is still an important part of free speech, but I wouldn't have any issues replacing a few offensive words.

there already is a filter in the game, it is currently optional and can be turned on and off under the options tab

Damn. Been so long... That's always been the first thing I did after reinstalling SGE... Turn that d4mn filter off.

LOL he he he, i'm really curious how you guys forgot that lol, but i use this filter all the time, because my folks are old style and don't like to see foul language and i must say it is actually very nice, it doesn't clean too much it does clean out "BBQ" and the "F..." and some other i must say i haven't tried it all but it works great for my taste, and for someone who knows what the other plp are saying you can tell which foul language they are using but for kids it is great.

edit: BBQ wasn't the word i typed lol SH*IT was the word lol

Noooooooooo no filter please. Keep the tab on the options like everyone else says. We add one of those then it'll feel too much like a kids game.

Lol was just commenting. I was apathetic to the fcc idea. And that thing annoys the hell outta me. You used to get some interesting conversations on starport before that change. These days those are rare as hell.

lol this was the first or second topic i posted in ever!

but to the point, isn't there already a word filter and the optoin to ignore people and the tab system to avoid them. the bigest insult to people like this is to have noone listen to their nonsense

behavior is relative to the person and the age. I am sure when you were young, you had plenty of elders saying the current youth is corrupted. Regardless, you have to realize this is a video game and words are just words. Plus, Ive played many different games than starport and those other games are much worse with flaming and general misconduct. If you dont believe me, go to the cal forums (www.caleague.com)...head to their forums and you'll see how much BBQ talking there really is.

and FYI, i am 23 so don't think it's because i am a teenager, it's because i never liked foul language and smart plp can get their points across without the need for that type of language.
