Anemia

What the hell is Anemia? Not really a science goof and the doctor was just throwing very long words at me.

Is it a biological condition or is because of environmental factors e.g smoking or something?

He gave me some tabs, anyone know how long before I see/feel a change?

- Thanks.

"Big words" is not a good way to describe your anemia, given the myriad of kinds there are of it involving big words, but suffice it to say that:

your body either isn't making red blood cells fast enough to replace the dying/dead ones,
or it is losing too many too fast to replace them,
or you are bleeding from somewhere (probably not, that would be obvious),
or your blood cells have deficient iron/hemoglobin.

What can you do about this? well given many of the causes of this are hereditary, the best you can do is increase your intake of iron, vitamin B12, and folic acid.

so eat red meats and fish, or take some supplements. you did always look anemic in your pics, so this isnt a surprise to me.

if you take your lower eyelid and pull it down, that area should be pinkish for people who arnt anemic, if it is very white, chances are you are anemic, like jc said, change your diet or just take supplements to help correct the problem

Hes given me Iron supplements, I think its Iron deficiency...

So like, how long before I look non-zombie like O.o

And JC: I've always abused my body with smoking, drugs, etc. There isn't a single thing I haven't tried, so I was thinking that was the reason for the big bags and zombie like appearance at times.

Anemia is more a symptom than an illness in itself.

It can be caused by a myriad of things and could mean all kinds of things.

Your doctor should be looking for the cause. Of course, if it's just a mild form of anemia with no other symptoms it might very well be nothing bad.

I've been suffering from anemia for a large part of my life. It can be countered in a few ways, among which are a diet (involving for example red meat) or pills or even shots.

But like I said, try to find out what's causing the anemia.

And start living a healthy life.

It's a lot more challenging and a lot cooler to be in control of yourself than to be a slave of your every whim.

Infection can cause anemia as well, STD? Cancer as well........TB........Parasites........go to the doctor and get a full blood test to figure out the cause. Heavy drug/alcohol abuse may cause anemia as well.......abstain from it for a while and let your body heal.

Your young so start taking care of yourself or be doomed to a life of misery later on as you get older.

Ouch - Do something about it if you can, or you'll end up a forum troll like MadAce :)

Got a full blood test scheduled, but hes giving me pills for almost every single nutrient, e.g iron etc.

I think it'll be the drugs, meh either way I'm prob stopping that BBQ.

Which drugs? Alcohol can eventually contribute to anemia, but it takes a long long time. Pot or nicotine can mess with your blood chemistry some but don't cause anemia as far as I know. Some of the harder drugs can, but if you're using them on more than a semi-frequent basis, you'd bets stop or at least cut down.

M-Cat is pure an utter BBQ. The fact you can extract it from chinese fertilizer kinda sums it up.

On a side note i found out i did meth when i was teen. Its called piko in Bulgaria from the original japanese name. Used to be a BBQ tonne here since the communist government built up a massive stockpile during the cold, whether for use in war or for educational stimulants.

As for anemia, blood is one of those things thats affected by anything. So it i'd check out your heart if you do coke on a regular basis, might be something off that. Or something to do with drastic changes to your blood pressure. Both weed and coke affect your blood pressure. Two extremes as well. So you never know. Green lowers blood pressure, the other increase. Its kinda like doing vodka and red bull.

Obvs I'm young, I'm not a druggy old dude, I'm a young guy who wants to have fun. I never do any BBQ at home or alone, I only do BBQ with friends on a night out or something.

I dunno you seem kinda young for the harder stuff....then again I now know of a couple people with ready access to cocaine and BBQ...so I guess not really. Isn't that fairly pricey though?

Yea quite pricey indeed X_X

£50/Gram. Personally, I'd want 4-5 Grams to myself alone, not to mention everyone else.
