oh no get in all the "arguments" (lol mel) you like, I can't stop you. It is just fun watching you spin your wheels as you say stupider and stupider BBQ.
And I wasn't alluding to christianity, only your interpretation of it. "Great" literature and forcing your beliefs on other people
And I have more than enough knowledge on christianity to reject it, even to ridicule it a little (differently from ridiculing
YOU, please note). There isn't any proof. Not a single shred of it beyond a circular-logic-dependent bible, and some nutjob testimonies (
sure you saw a burning bush,
sure your AIDS was cured by god,
sure jesus visited you in your french toast). I know much beyond that, I just don't really need it, and some people who DO read and understand and question it actually end up dropping religion due to their advanced knowledge of all the contradiction, cruelty, illogic, and so forth in the bible. I am lucky I wasn't forced into it when I was younger, otherwise I wouldn't be so fortunately objective. Though, even if I was, I was a terribly lazy child
probably would have questioned it and removing myself from it after wondering exactly
why I spend so much time praying, fasting, w/e.
In reality, you don't need to know a thing about christianity itself to reject it, only the "proof" it offers.
But communism is a form of government, politics is a soft social science; not a manual on creation and the afterlife. Communism, and other government/political systems have treasties, manifestos, libraries written on them and put into historical and case-study perspective. To understand its proper application you have to read up on Engels, Marx, Lenin, or whomever else took the theory up. And before you start accusing me of being a communist, I am not. Socialism sure, only way I can see communism working is in a post-scarcity environment, which I doubt will ever happen. Anyhoo, christianity is faith based, communism (or political systems in general really) is based in practical application, the real world, proof and logic. Comparing the two is like comparing engineering skill with a talent for painting.
