Earlier today CERN released some results from their ongoing OPERA experiment which indicated neutrinos traveling faster than the speed of light. The neutrinos traveled 732 kilometers 90 nanoseconds faster than light would have covered the distance. Now, they have been getting such a result for quite a while and they decided to present these findings so that scientists at other similar research facilities may independently verify this potential break through. However, it is more likely that some type of systemic error is at work given how correct relativity has proven. Of course, there are still many things we do not fully understand, and some obscure forces such as quantum tunneling may be at work. It could be true, it could be the most important finding since Einstein made his theories. Or it could be another cold fusion. I hope it isn't just an error, I'd love to live on this cusp of immense discovery if it is true. But I can't really believe that, at least not at the moment.
Thoughts?

Re: FASTER THAN LIGHT?!
Now if we could only put it on Ships, we could explore our God-Given Universe.
(Now DONT Start that argument again)

Edit: Aw. My orginal post in this thread was serious and non-trolly. I can understand why others would be deleted, but not that one. Just sayin'.

It was well written and heads above the others that were also off-topic. I encourage you to continue the discussion in the appropriate thread.Caia wrote:No.omlow wrote:anyone else want to argue about religion here/now?
