Malcolm McClaren R.I.P.

Post by Dr.Strangelove » Fri Apr 09, 2010 5:27 pm

It is with great sadness I hear of the death of Malcolm McClaren. From his early days in the 70's, pioneering British Punk, through to when he brought Hip-Hop to the white masses in the 80's, he has been on the cutting edge of the music scene for over 3 decades.
Probably the best band manager to ever live, the Sex Pistols owe a lot to this man.
It is also highly ironic or more so a look into the real man that, during his time in music he always seeked publicity and controversy, but during his battle with cancer, he fought it privately.

Anyone with even just a passing intrest in Punk, Hip-Hop or World Music own a debt to him. He will truely be missed.

Glad to see a fellow Old Punk remembers his genius.

One of his last interviews on RTE's The Podge & Rodge Show. Not many celebrities got out from this show without being totally ridiculed. But Malcom enjoys the banter and gets out alive.
