bad camera angles. The Force Unleashed for 360 was a b-a game that was ruined by terrible camera angles. the worst ones were in the final room where you fight darth vader, it zoomed you out so far you had to put your face to the screeen to see what you were selecting to throw at him

the "WTF HE WASNT EVEN AIMING AT ME!!!" scenario, such as in CoD WaW when if your crouch walking sideways and shoot some one, they see you crouch walking straight, fire and suddently their dead. this a remnant of a glitch that has existed in every fist person shooter to have ever been made >:O

This is kind of the exact opposite of the term 'universal' which in context with this thread means ALL games, not a specific game. So to rephrase for you: When you have to repeat the same missions over and over.

Bad GUI.
Having to push the same button rapidly to get something open/unlock something/DO something.
Annoying character sounds (Red Skull from Disgaea comes to mind)
Unreadable text on next gen console games. (Seriously. Its a PS3, make the damn text readable without me having to squint.)
Micromanagment.
Placing exits poorly so you can't find your way out of a 10 x 10 room (FF7 has at least a half dozen of these)
Bad translations. ("All your base...")
Minigames that you HAVE to play in order to advance the story.
Bad AI given super powers to make up for it being so bad. (Seriously, if you can't build AI to beat the average person, you shouldn't be making games.)
Tetris.
Not being able to save whenever I want.
Non-games ( Yeah, I'm looking at you Second Life)
Games that are shipped 90% done, and the maker claims they'll fix the 10% in a patch "shortly." 6 months and 3 patches later, it still isn't working right.
There's more, but I'm too tired to go on.

Experience points. Games with experience points suck. There are rare exceptions.

SGE: Exp in this game might as well just be called "points" and not "experience" because they don't actually matter to your character. Basically we're all just going for the high score, just like a retro arcade game. Big reason I like this game a lot.

Zelda 2, The Adventure of Link: You fought the monsters in a really fun arcade style manner, so the grinding wasn't so bad. There have been games like this since then, like Castlevania Circle of the Moon.
