A group of intergalactic Alien robots came to earth and inflicted the plague that is techno upon mankind in the hopes that we would destroy ourselves in our efforts to eradicate it from the earth.

Some guy was working on his computer one day when it started to make some noises and he was like "wow this is so terrible, someone else has to hear it." so he recorded it and showed it to his friend who was obligated under man law to listen to it as a curtesy, he then decided to show all of his friends who were also obligated and so on and so forth. And the whole techno movement was just guys showing their buddies the horrible sounds that eminated from their computers, and the buddies obligation to listen to the music as a curtesy.

It's on our side of the pond, too, mainly in urban areas.
Techno is a large amount of noise produced by people in a drug-induced state who think they can make music, usually listened to by people in drug-induced states at large parties with flashing lights, called "raves". In fact, almost exactly like disco over here in the '70s.

While techno is one of the fore mentioned drug based genres of music there are many others. Often times said genres of music have little pleasurable effects on the mind but are widley listened to by people who collect and listen to such music as more of a status symbol.
Example:

Dude # 1
"yo, I be listenin to fitty cent"
Dude # 2
"Cool, I'm listening to the score for Lord Of The Rings: Return Of The King"

Notice Dude # 1 brings to Dude # 2s attention that he is listening to a popular artist?

I'm going to assume you mean Ibiza, not Libiza!

Its not on the Spanish mainland but is located in the Mediterranean Sea about 80 km off the coast of Spain. It's one of the Balearic Islands and is def famous for techno/dance music, as well as lots of young drugged up UK tourists!
