[IDEA] Shipyard Planetary Structure

Post by Havoc » Thu Aug 03, 2006 6:47 pm

first part of this suggestion is to add a planetary structure called a shipyard. here you could build and house up to 3 ships. you would need lots of resources to build it:

2000 metal ore
1000 uranium
1000 equipement

then once you have a shipyard you could build/buy a ship from it.
if you build it it would take time based on your construction level%.
if you buy the ship it would cost 100% more for the conveinience of having it at your planet. you would not have access to shields/holds. otherwise it would be too easy to abuse this.

also onc you build the shipyard and have at least 1 ship in port you could trade ships.

i think this would help alot with token sales since i for one will not buy the IG Ship because it should have more cargo holds.

if i could buy an IG Ship and trade it for my barge i built in my shipyard i would be more likely to buy an IG Ship. this way i dont loose the tokens when i need to now defend the planet i just invaded.

Let me Know what you think.

yes i like this post

why not, you dont BUILD them, but you buy them and store them in the shipyard they fly off in your pod to purchase your new ship that way people could swap between ships once they have purchased the IG ship.

that way in the end you could have say there is 3-5 shipyard slots to store ships you

could buy an IG then store it and they go and buy a whale for moving goods once finished with it store it and swap back to IG i think it would boost tokens sales as well as people now know that once they have an IG ship they dont need to die before they can get a bigger holds ship!

You'd log on to find yourself floating in space in a pair of used underpants.

your ship doesnt leave you when you land on a planet you have to select the type of ship you would want to use instead so if you landed in a Barge and didnt choose to change ships i would think that you would be ejected from the planet in the barge !?

They are turned into incredibly deadly NPCS that self destruct on the invader, causing the invader to die, out of spite.

what happens to ships in shipyard

Post by Havoc » Sat Aug 05, 2006 5:59 pm

well just like nukes and lasers in weapons factory. to the victor be the spoils of war. when the planet is taken any ships in the shipyards are theirs. this would keep people from stocking 3 ships in every planet. thus making it balanced.

personally if i take a planet and i dont get any money, no experince, and 15-20 lasers. it was a total waste of time. maybe a ship like an ig ship would be interesting. also i've been told once you get 1 ig ship its hard not to get another. so if i got one from a planet i conquered and liked it. well i might just buy another 1 day when i need it.

i liken it to driving a lotus. if you've never driven an exotic sports car you dont know what your missing and you cant imagine why people love them so much or would pay so much for them.

IG ship costs 10k tokens for the first one, when you die you get 8500 back, so it works out to 10k initial purchase, 1.5k for repeating customers.

This would really imbalance gameplay. On offensives large corps could save up hundreds, even thousands of ISC's, and just suicide slide, and fight all day, and never have to go back to sol.

ye i think that their should be something like the shipyard moves to the closest colony of yours (any colony owned by that person not their colonys) and that people wo own the planet can use it not members of the corp

If it does get in, it should cost alot more resources like:

2000 Metal Ore
1000 Anaerobes
1000 Medicine
1000 Organics
1500 Oil
2000 Uranium
2000 Equipment
5000 Spice

And it should take 100 colonists 24 days to build.

24 days? Kind of extreme, maybe a bit like 16-20?
People get impatient, unless you can rush the construction.

24 days for 100 workers. It would be much faster with 5,000 It should be faster on a rebang.
