[IDEA] Instant Zounds

Post by BLADE2 » Sat Jul 22, 2006 4:02 pm

I know I'm probably gonna get some hatemail for this. But, how about and instant Zounds Biodome that can be purchased at StarBase. Limit one, per day, per corp. $100 million. fully staffed. Uses up all cargo bays and holds to transport. Costs extra 10 fuel per hop to move.

Okay, tell me how bad of an idea it is!

The idea is quite interesting.

But I don't really see a point.

The point would be less work for those who have the money. One trip from Sol to system of their other colonies that maybe several hops away. Also, no UN protect at all! Make it a little bit of a danger. With all bays and holds to transport super-biodome. They will have to risk going back to Star Base for turrets while new colony sits undefended (except solar, which is easily taken by itself) It'll be worth it in the long run, and It'll give other corps something to push themselves to work harder to get it. It's expensive because of what it could add to a corp, plus, tokers will have to spend a bundle to buy it. That will make Toonces happy.

With some effort and the people you can max a zounds in an hour with 10 mil or so and have 3 days of protection left...

Plus, think of all the fuel NOT used in getting it to zounds!

Definitely not going to happen.

*Holds up cross and backs away slowly.*

Think about it this way. Say you have a group of planets nestled deep in allied territory. Now, normally if any enemy staging points were to pop up you would notice a day or two in advance as they built up and prepare. No problem, the only ones who could really bring real havok would be build crazy corps, but most of the time a corp will declare war on you, again, you have warning. Now imagine that a single player goes out and buys a zoundz dome, it is set down right next to your planets, you come in the next day and see that every one of them is taken. This is bad, and unrealistic. (How do you plan to fight 5000 people into a ship that at most could only carry 200?)

Then again... how do you fit 24 domes in a ship, each of which is big enough to land the ship in? That's a different story though.

YOUR UPSETTING THE BALANCE OF NATURE! EEP!

Freeze-dried Instant People, just add water?

That one's easy: You fold them up. It's like an origami biodome.

Molecular scale VonNueman macheen. Just plop down a nano package, let it start eating the local rocks and stuff, few minutes later instant starter colony. As to the max dome thing, I vote you a sopprano.

No risk, All you do is have 3 corp members sit on the planet and defend it while the other runs barge.
