People might hate this idea but ill give it a try. How about you limit the amount of sceince discoverys a colony can make (see poll). The benifits would of course be more powerfull. This would allow colonys to be costomized. If you want to reset the discoverys you pay lets say 3 million creds and it is reset to zero again. I think this is a really good idea. What are your thoughts? :) NEW this could make colony build more fun and interestiong. Also tell me how much more power each discovery should have so it is balanced.

I don't like this idea. How about taking out researches for colonies that aren't needed on them like spice mining for example. Onyl make that research on planets that can harvest it.

You dont understand. you chose which ideas to research therefore you costimize the colony you own. Also the bounuses will be greater to make the game ballanced. But you only get a certin amout of technonlogy.

Intresting idea. I think that they could come up with some new researches for this idea. And researching would be more intresting with it. Fairly intresting.

I don't care for this idea.

I've been a long-time advocate however of the "remove useless harvesting bonus discoveries" idea. A planet should not waste time researching discoveries that effect resources that planet can't produce.

Yeah, what will they do with it? I mean they can't sell it on the internet, thats probably were my researchers got it in the first place. I swear I have the dumbest smart people in the whole New Hope server.

But seriously, it is a waste of time for my greenhouse planet to get a discovery that helps mine spice, I can't use it, and when they get that and several other things I can't use during my first twelve researches I'm annoyed at least I have superconductor, or else it would suck completely. I'm been trying to get weather prediction but now my colony was taken over, again. I've retaken it five times even though it is a pile of crap. I don't know sentimental value. My first good, er, half decent colony, well off to wait for my fuel to regenerate so I can recapture it.

Thats why you can chose what you research and also it will be more powerful EX: bounus to metal production was 10% now it will be 30 % to keep it balanced. If you dont want spice harvesting than dont reasearch it!!!!

I'd favor this idea over what we have now, but I still like the old ways best.

I don't like having to wait on 1 or 2 researches at the end when my colony should be producing. Especially if those 1 or 2 researches are things a colony really needs.
