basically an idea on using passive hardware modules that naturally take up hardware space to customize the ship to suit one's needs
This is yet to reach a final state before a vote, but that's a matter of summing it all up and adding some attention to it. Sorry for the long link and the possibly inappropriate post in the first place .....

When you capture a colony, it shows to you who you took it from, but not in the corporate news, so your corpmates don't know when they come on. So I was thinking that it would be helpful to a CEO and the rest of your corp if they knew so if you took it from someone you had NAP with, they wouldn't be surprised when they start getting accused of breaking NAP, (and someone who knows about the NAP could tell them) so they (corp or ceo) can straighten it out with the invaded corp before the accusations or unwanted war. (at least be more likely to) The other thing was if you see who your corpmates took planets from, and then see that person took some other planets after (presumably in retaliation) you know that it wasn't just a random attack, but provoked.

I am sick and tired of people saying "I sent you two mails and you didn't respond" and thinking I am the prick and ignoring their mails too, well this is pretty damn hard if I didn't get it....
I know it atleast works sometimes if the person is on /ignore because MadAce was on ignore along with half the starport community and I got one from him and it persuaded me to take him off. So I don't think it was that.
I find myself sending mails and wonder if I spelled the name right, or if it didn't go through, and sometimes even what it said. I also find myself getting other peoples mails. There is a character on Frontier Wars Furian, and I am Furiae, so one time I got a mail from Gen to vulture a planet. Rolling Eyes I have no idea the kinds of things he might have been getting lately...
Anyway, so the IDEA, and yes, I am going to bet someone has come up with it or one like it before, I don't care.
When you send a mail, it saves a copy to a 'sent box.' It also asks if you are sure you want to send to this person, checks if they exist, gives a few suggestions if spelled wrong. Then tells you a message after you sent it.
This is how I invision it. Someone trys to send a mail to Furia, no character by that name but two really really close ones... it gives a list of suggestions which includes Furiae and Furian. Person resends to Furiae. *game gives this message* "Send mail to Furiae?" *person checks yes* *computer says* "mail sent to Furiae" and it saves a copy to sent box so when they reply you know what they are talking about....

Have an entirely new menu for duels, allowing you to:
Pick the in-system people to be included during the duel, and allow multiple people to duel as teams, as already mentioned.
Pick hardware from a list that you want to use, so that say if you're carrying 8 mines you can choose to have 7 nukes and a laser for the duel.
Have the ability to pick duel length, and also to choose not to end the duel until there is only one person standing, one team standing, or all players agree to end the duel.
Have the ability to select starting shield level, this could be selected as an individual or as a group. Maybe even up the level to 20k or some outlandish number for a looong duel. Very Happy
Be able to select more versatile duel prizes. For instance, being able to do a three-way duel over an SC, 5k tokens, or 8 nukes would be great. Very Happy Or even, though this is a bit more advanced, being able to duel over a colony.

I can usually tell by how many fuel I make who said what when pretty accurately, but sometimes I have more than 5000 fuel so that doesn't work, in addition there are people who would probably like to know but are too lazy or not mathematically inclined enough to do it, and even then it is a rough estimate at best. So I was thinking a button or option to enable timestamps for messages would be nice. Smile

Artifact and hardware storage at Starbases.
Tux wrote:
I don't know what would be a good limit, maybe 2-3max.(four might be pushing it) The idea is you can exchange artifacts at a starbase for ones you have previously stored, this is why it is nice. Some people like 3 IG suits (me) but in an IG ship, 16 dex is a bit high for some people, (not me, but it feels odd switching from ISC to IG so I would use this probably anyway) So it lets you change for whichever ship/task you are doing, example, you might want maps if you are barging for yourself, or three IG suits for a tricky slide you keep dying on, or maybe you can't cap a dome or keep dying because you need a bit more energy regeneration, you would switch to one or more superconductors. This would also help people who want to sell artifacts, so they aren't always one short until they find what they want again, they just go to the base if they want.
I was thinking this would be best if you could get them at any base, like branches of a bank, not two seperate ones, though that could work (possibly better), them being base specific.

I like this idea. Maybe everyone has a personal storage box accessible at any starbase where you can store hardware and artifact items...

I just went to my server, and I am very pissed. Seems my chia pet corp-mates (ex corp-mates now) are F'tards. They have been running their mouths taking peoples colonies, then letting them get taken back (and then some), as a result I was the only one with any planets for said pissed off people to take extended revenge on, and from this the only ones getting taken were mine, now that I am somewhat pissed at myself for staying in the corp, even so they still did more than just pissing people off, read on. Now then, what most annoys me, the freaking idiots were selling solar cannons on planets that I still have (that is how I know they sold them on ones I don't anymore), so I wonder for what purpose (sarcasm, I know for what purpose)... on top of that, I find Heater cores missing, atom smashers gone, refinery upgrades gone, now wtf is that about?!?! The damn colonies have cash on them... They didn't even freaking clean pollution... If I start playing they are going down, beside the point. Anyway, As a result I lost over 50 planets and on colonies I still have, over a dozen structures. (I only have just over 85, *mumbles obscenities*)
So, please don't let other people sell other peoples planets structures. Sad
Oh, and the minimum I ever sold planets for was 2k tokens, and since many of these were essentially given to the invaders... and since it was PTT's patch, logically you (PTT) owe me let us say... 80k tokens should cover the bill for damages done, my lawyer will be contacting you shortly. Cloaking device (Gives ships natural cloak at 50 energy every 2 seconds)
Drill bit (Drill for resources on planets)
Artifact Finder (Gives better chance to find artifacts)
Expansion Bay (50 extra holds [100 extra for sower] and 2 hardware bays [8 extr for Barge])
Historical Scanner (30% chance to find targets colonies, Planets landed on with domes, and how many he/she has)

In a few words It's a piece of the corp profile which allows you to write a message to tell who and what the corp is. A bit like the quote area on a personel quote area!

Corporate resumes
My idea is to have corporate resumes for each player containing number of corps they've been in, names of corps, how long they stayed in each one. Resumes would cost around 500k.

Partial rushing of buildings
should be able to use cash to reduce building time, not just the "all or nothing" rush option that we have now. If it costs 1mil to rush a building to completion, i should be able to pay 500k to rush a building half way to completion, etc.

"Pulse Cannon" (Revised from Gattling Cannon)
http://starportgame.com/sgeforum/viewto ... c&start=30
Cost: 50k
Firing rate: same as lasers
Range: less than lasers More than Flaks (whichever toonces feels is approproate)
Damage: 110 units per hit
Energy Drain: 20 per hit (anywhere between flaks and lasers)
Fires Single Blue laser bolt.
Black base and Gray barrel (not critical)
This idea is not meant to be a really big game changing implementation. This is simply another cannon less powerful than lasers and more powerful for flaks. It is intended for Newbies to help them defend.

Nuke Residue:
With this implemented, when a nuke explodes, it leaves a deadly residue that starts small but gradually grows bigger in a circular (or u know that galaxy map type? where its a circle but with 2 arms? kindof like that) motion that damages EVERYBODY that goes through it, and is removed after a few minutes. Planets/ports would block it, and the closer you are to the center, the more damage it would do. Wou.d only work in space (or not, up to toonces if he decides to implement)
