Save-settings button

couldn't really think of an appropriate name for them, i just woke up. but anyway, i was thinking it'd be neat to be able to save research etc settings, solar, resource, and taxes. then save them.

that way you could have all your colonies set for no pollution.. then visit them if there's trouble, and click on one of your already-set good-military buttons.

personally, i'd find this very useful.. and because nothing easy in this game comes without a token price, i also think it'd be a great way to boost token sales :P

oh, right, and my initial thought was to just have a single button for all colonies. but of course, you wouldn't be using fuel going to all your colonies with that idea.. also you might not want to adjust ALL of them.. so, it'd probably be best to just have them on the colony.

i could just be lazy but, i think it's a pretty neat idea.

alot of times im juggling dome3's on high growth planets, so i would get alot of use out of a "dual spec" setting like that.

Would only work well if there were two(or more) exactlly the same planets with the same research and everything... or else, the settings might be good for one or two but not for all.

Exactly. The idea is an interesting concept, but every planet is just enough different that you're going to tweak the settings anyway.

I think what you're looking for is a "balance my planet for me" button, but this would make the game lame.

There was an idea a long time ago to hire a magistrate who would do this "balance my planet for me" dynamically for a single planet, but this pseudo-character/artifact would be rare, and I think the idea was to have it expire after a month or until invasion, whichever came first.

Yea, I really don't want a "Balance my colony" button. I want an easy button:P. Anyway, the idea is not bad, might be great for starting up cols. Since different people have different ways of starting up a build, you can save your settings for how you like each type of planet to be when you start building and save a few seconds of your time then(of course, you have to change stuff once it is fully built/in-the-process-of-being-built.

maybe im not understanding you correctly, but the way you're talking about it seems like... you have.. say.. 2 available buttons you can save settings to. you save good mili settings to the first one.. and on all your other colonies, that first settings button is the same. that wasnt my idea.

if i understood you wrong, please explain.

but if i didnt, what i meant was.. 2 or so buttons on each planet, and they get saved individually.

it'll be time consuming, going to each planet and adjusting them.. but plenty of people end up doing it anyway, so they dont have to clean. might as well put forth the extra effort to save those settings, and then adjust settings for good mili and save those also.

the idea isnt any kind of an easy button, it'll be just as much of a pain in the butt to adjust stuff, you'll just have the option to do it in advance.. and only have to do it once.

ah, so it's a "commonly used settings on this planet" button.
