This will work... the community just needs to pitch in. The graphics could be done by the artist but then there need to be A LOT of them so ppl who just like to doodle help them~... pewpew - I don't think its 5mb patch more like 20mb.
I do think this'll be awsome. Just months to develop this and to my suggestion only work when the SGE has about 1000 players a day (I hope it does). Because there's 2000+ systems. It's just huge like herc. Why don't you have systems shaped like galaxies for each faction but only some of it is owned by the factions. If the systems were small like x2 of blitzkrige then it'll be pretty fun and tense match and fit the current player density.
Do factions have Friendly fire? That would be a problem if it does.
!@#$ %$^&*%, stop dropping nukes at me

No friendly fire.
The factions would be corps so you would have no problems with friendly fire.
Also, a lot of the stuff is already there.

Ships? there're ships?
Nice to see that 'interceptors' (little ships that bugs the hell out of you) is in one of it. But you do know that if you have little ships that fight needs little guns that fight back.
I also think your ships would make other ships in the game very obsolete... first ship is meant to be obsolete but others might take a toll. Dogfights will take ages to complete. Unless they have new super weapons that are $#!% hard to aim.
I still stand my ground. The idea just needs some tweaks.

The Super-strong ships are only available to a select few in each faction, thus you won't have a kajillion running around.

That is not true, toonces changed the duel system and gave us the research patch. It may SEEM easy to code that stuff, but I am sure ti takes many hours of work, and then at least 3 days of editing to get it just right, why do you think there are only as many bugs as there currently are(there could be MANY more)

Actually I think the duel system would just be more "change this value, change this to false"
So, If toonces programmed the game for easy modification, It would look like this:
Instead of mov 1000, AX It would be mov 6000 AX (or however toonces programs it) 011001010001011101010101100010101100010100011010101101
Slider bars are more complicated though, but troubleshooting is absolutely infuriating for me

But it is possible and I am saying that he DOES do stuff, but they are a FIVE man team making maybe 4-50k per year each off this. They don't have multi-million dollar programs or huge program teams to speed things up, be happy they do ANYTHING and they don't just shut this thing down.

What programming language are you talking about? Binary? or just a structured programming language?

what program does toonces use?
Edit: More stuff. Edited it so that I don't have to get more posts.
More medals!
For fighters:
Lifetime kills will get you medals, but these kills can only be on the war server and can only be on non-sleeper enemies. This is how the medal system will work.
Each medal replaces the one b4.
50 kills: Medal Saying "Dog Fighter"
100 kills: Medal Saying "Ace Pilot"
250 kills: Medal saying "Double Ace Pilot"
500 kills: Medal saying "Triple Ace Pilot"
1000 kills: "Quadruple Ace pilot"
2500 kills: "Veteran Pilot"
5000 Kills: "Master Pilot"
10000 kills: "Hero of the fighter pilots"
For invaders:
25 invaded cols: Medal saying "Invader"
50 invaded cols: Medal saying "Ace Invader"
100 invaded cols: Medal saying "Double Ace Invader"
250 invaded cols: Medal saying "Triple Ace invader"
500 invaded cols: Medal saying "Quadruple Ace invader"
1000 invaded cols: Medal saying "Veteran Invader"
2500 invaded cols: Medal saying "Master invader"
5000 invaded cols: Medal saying: "Hero of the Invaders"
For builders:
100 built cols: Medal saying "builder"
200 built cols: Medal saying "Good builder"
500 built cols: Medal saying "Great builder"
1,000 built cols: Medal saying "Awesome builder"
2,500 built cols: Medal saying "Supreme builder"
5,000 built cols: Medal Saying "Veteran builder"
10,000 built cols: Medal Saying: "Master builder"
25,000 built cols: Medal Saying: "Hero of the builders"
For al;:
First 3 medals bronze.
4-5 medals silver
6-7 medals gold
8th medal platinum with gold and silver.
All medals replace the medals b4 them.

I wonder how much of this stuff the community could do by themselves, like volenteer work to make less work for toonces so it may be actually manageable. For example, people could design necessary layouts, design the graphics, etc.
if toonces shares his programming method, maybe some people good with programming could actually help him write it. He could for example tell them stuff that needs to be programmed, they'd write up the necessary stuff and send it to him, and he could add it to the "master program".

Learn. It's not that hard, just requires a lot of patience, something I don't have.

No time. If you could lead me to a online site that would teach me, I might be able to find the time somewhere.

Thanks for being mean^^. Now, I think I will learn how to program, and will program this and then send all the stuff I have compiled to Toonces, that way, he can make it^^.

Great idea, best thing since the perma's if this came out, doubt toonces will make this though and probably a whole new game if he does(programming isn't that hard if you know what to do=P)

MORE STUFF.
It seems to me that since ports are invadable and you can't use the enemy ports, you may need shileds as you are invading them. So it may also be kewl for you to be able to buy shield generators at bases. Each generator would be able to hold o like 1000 shields and would use one hardware slot. Barges would be able to barge 24k shields at a time. This would make convoys REALLY important. The 100 fuel usage across the superwarps would force you to use convoys.
Imagine the following:
This is the U.N...
A convoy of 9 garbage barges is heading to "alpha piscum". The trip is 14 hops + the superwarp. This means that each trip will use 240 fuel. The barges are protected by 4 ISCs and 2 U.N. U.N. defenders and one U.N. commander. The convoy MUST be protected if we are to get take the port at alpha piscum.
