Horrible lag/freezing for past 2 weeks

I've had similar issues that started with the most recent batch of 4 or 5 patches. Game freezes for about 15 seconds then resumes, usually shakily. When it happens I'm usually showing a ping of 160 or lower and it's jumped to 350-650 immediately after. It then takes 5-10 minutes of sitting in port for ping to return to normal, then once I get active again it returns.

Earlier today I was experiencing exactly this but today's the first day I've noticed it. At the end of the hangs my ping is usually from 700-1200 and even building becomes untenable.
