System Requirements

Post by IzzyDead » Wed Feb 18, 2009 11:27 pm

I run an older computer and could not find anywhere the minimum system requirements to be able to play this game.

Does anyone have a link to the info or know?

Chances are you have the minimum specs, most of the people have problems because their systems are too new to handle Starport.

I'd recommend just downloading the installer and see if you have any problems...chances are that you won't if you have an older machine, unless you're talking greater than 6 or 7 years old.

Try it and see.

Peace used to play it on a pentium 133, and I had a PII 400 MHz back in the day. I think it's gotten a little more resource-intensive recently due to the extra functionality that's been patched in, but you won't know 'til you try ;)

wowwwww. the ram might be a problem..128 megabytes is practically unnoticeable. no idea if the processor will be a problem...i suspect you will get EXTREME laser lag, but you might be ok in space.

had a toshiba laptop, a sattelite CDT 4040 i remember, 300mhz and 128mb internal
8 mb internal graphics. it worked like a bugger. but what i did is hook up a bigger HDD and add another 128.
i overclocked it to 500 mhz and installed xp on it, once xp was installed from the 40gb HDD i made 4GB for reserverd memory wich willwork the same as a memorycard. it ran like a baby. i did have to restart it every 3hours or so due to the memory not beeing enuf to proccess the reserved memory so it ran full.

just go and try and see if it works, if not, well for ur old pc there are very very cheap 2nd hand items for sale to boost it.

You could mod your own graphics to make it run better, if you wanted. For example, you could shrink all ship images to 32x32...
