we should get arties for thursting and speed. Igsuits = turn, and sc = more energy reg. so y not have some new arties that help with other things. Idk just a thought i had.

Mods should be balanced before new artis are attempted. But I do like the idea of combinational artifacts. Like a Suit + Cloak rolled into one, or an arti thats a SC + half of an SE into one.

How about some fun artifacts that don't have to take up space? Have some artifacts that give perks that are temporary, like finding one that cleans all pollution for a corporation or players planets. Once used it would disappear. People could think of ones that are unique but not game changing. They could spawn frequently and only on gas or tiny planets so no worry about them showing up on colonized planets.

I can't think of ideas right this minute, but I think it would be a fun change of pace from getting barely used artifacts or endlessly searching for a good artifact worthy of keeping.

Um... If you mean they get progressively worse.... My god, there needs to be 'repair' features that cost credits then. There needs to be more things to spend credits on in-game anyways.

not trying to be antagonistic here toonces, but making arties wear and tear won't do anything but make people quit. ESPECIALLY if they degrade in stats the longer you have/use them. Going from 'perfect' straight to 'ruined' every few months wouldn't be too bad - still wouldn't be much point in it though. But arties that just got worse and worse as you used them...? just another annoying inconvenience that would make a lot of people just say hug this BBQ

if arties were super rare and only a certain number of each type could be found in a galaxy, or something like that, then having them degrade so the same people wouldn't hog all the good ones makes sense - but that's not the case. there is no reason whatsoever to make them degrade based on their current place/function in the game - they are unlimited and found relatively easily, and people depend on their consistency for invading, especially on no mod servers!

Atleast artifact hunting and trading would become a more on-going part of the game, so some players might specialise in selling them, but artis should last atleast 2 months or it would be too annoying.

Artifact hunting is boring and repetitive, making it a larger part of the game is not a good idea. If artifacts are meant to be a bigger element, then the whole process needs to be changed so it's actually enjoyable. But forcing people to spend time on it instead of other things doesn't help.

Toonces you're forgetting one possibility. People with lots of cash will be able to hunt for artifacts endlessly. New players, or players with crumbling empires won't have the money to search for them when they show wear and tear. If you do this then you should go ahead and add artifacts to the Admirals club so people can have the option of just buying the ones they want without having to hunt them.

While i do not think this is the best idea it could make Toonce some more money. Instead of having to hunt down new fresh artifacts a simple addition to the admirals club like artifact regeneration will solve the problem of going to get new ones.


Anything that makes Toonce more cash will make this game better for us as he will be able to offer more servers and ideas.

Artifacts should disappear with the destruction of your ship. :D

This would encourage Fighting - i mean who wouldn't wanna destroy a guy with 2 suits and a superconductor - make him have to work to get it all back. ! Pawnsauceness :twisted:
