Starport GE Game Trailer..See It Here
There was a topic on making your own trailer but i couldn't find it so here is mine.
I used alot of user created content from forums and YouTube in this video so who knows you or someone you know might be in it
and if it doesn't wanna make you play Starport i don't know what will
I hope it brings new players to starport
as ever feel free to comment here about what you thought
Enjoy

Really love it, except for one thing. The recording quality. It would be a lot better recorded at 1024 x 768 resolution, but it looks like it's been recorded at 320 x 200 or so, or maybe with super high compression.
See if you can raise the recording resolution or lower the compression level.

I wanted to stay true the game so in order to do that i had to use a bunch of user created contentToonces wrote:Really love it, except for one thing. The recording quality. I like how by the end of the video the SGE bar hasnt loaded any more than at the start - I think that is the most "Starport" thing there

Frontline, perhaps we shall continuously make trailers, constantly one-upping each-other yes? That'd be interesting. I have plenty of timeFr0nTLiNe wrote:joined: Fri Oct 22, 2010 9:48 amEkomS wrote:This is Decent i guess i might tryhard on one next month for a grade in one of my classes

Re: Starport GE Game Trailer..See It Here
Nice of you to take this initiative and some nice parts in the piece too.
Trailers are all about building tension up to a non-resolving climax.
Set up the status-quo, set up the obstacle, show the battle, resolve nothing. This will make people want to see what happens.
Start slow and then as the music builds, the pace of the editing should increase together with the action in the shots. You can intersect with very short phrases. After the climax finish continue with lingering music and then one final iconic shot exemplifying something awesome that people should not forget. Finish it with some slow drums and the SGE logo emerging from black.
Unimaginative and cookie-cutter, but it works.
And only use recorded footage, no stills. Keep it short, 1:30 max.
Example of one of the best trailer music pieces of the past 10 years, with the perfect trailer music structure:

Here's some interesting pieces after a quick look through an old trailer music playlist of mine.

But since it's a game it should probably be a more compartmentalized song.
