New Server

As per request of Toonces and pbn4ever.


A server based on war.. and active fighting..
I'd like to request a new NO-MOD server with only layouts 1-30 (viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2928)
(ALSO NO ASTEROIDS AND NEGS IN PORT)
I'd also like it to have solars with 50 ore per shot.. for lower solars.

Finally, I'd like the map to be smaller.. maybe 100-150 systems, and in a spiral shape (can be changed).

Any other ideas?

*Medium Difficulty To Lower Pollution.. as pollution blows*







Outline:
Cheap Starting Prices At Bases
Accelerated Artifact Regeneration
4m Starting Cash
Layouts 1-30
No Modules, Asteroids and Negotiators in starports
Lower Difficulty for Lower Pollution
100-150 Systems
Ports In Every System With The Exception Of A Few.. a few less ports than GA
50 Ore Per Shot On Solars
Smaller Corps: 2-3 Per Corp
Higher Base Stats: Thrusting/Speed Bonus On This Server Only!

Possible Ideas:
Inlcuding Up To Layout 35 (30-35 Would Be RARRRE)
15k Pop Max

small corps (2-3)

medium difficulty

150 systems sounds reasonable.

ports most systems or rarely, no inbetween.

not 50 ore. earths would be useless.

50 Ore would mean lower solars.

seems pretty good, but dont think it should be 2-3 corp, probly more like 5 , also the ships should get like 2x stats so they can be like pre-mod (i doubt toonces will do that but w.e)

I recently thought about that, since u guys said the higher ore thing, great idea, and seens as earths/oceans would suck with that, why not just give oceans/earths a small ore bonus or sometihng just so solar stays somewhat reseanable.

I like the idea in general, corp size should either be massive or very small i like the number 3, seems pretty cool, no pwnage.
map size sounds perfect, alot of ports would make sense, high fuel regen,


how about 15k pop cap?

NO MORE PERMAS

maybe if toonces deletes like 3+ of the dead mod servers like ROP, DMJ, P5, etc.

but almost every mod server has a group of token whores who play the server by themselves so token sales might be too high for them to be deleted.

GA is doing GREAT right now EVEN after the banging of TOS (basically already dead/monopolized by token whores)... let's not hug it up by adding a new perma to further draw away players :roll: ?

3 is a decent corp size for this map. And I agree.

medium difficulty = 25k pop max, which is fine.

and how bout the first 35 layouts? so we get Dtails and shotguns in. 2 good, but rare layouts? :)

then i think we have our server :)

i have a brilliant idea how bout instead of thinning the player base... we make nukes dodgeable (unless patches 1706-07 did something since the recent adjustment of missile physics, they're still not dodgeable...)

why not 15k pop cap?> We want this server to be different to draw people in, its needs new inovation to it. It needs more than one different thing than all oterh servers,

as for the token whore comment by saber fury, dont talk BBQ, if a group of people get together they take down any corp, token whores included, so really that comment has no relevance to this thread, stick to the point /facepalm

I'm talking about server stagnation and monopolization and was pointing out how basically every single mod server is owned by a token whore corp or a corp with no competition. I was not saying they can't be taken down - actually, the fact that people HAVEN'T taken down these corps just furthers my point - these old, dead, mod servers should be deleted to compensate for any new server

I think its a good idea...but like PJ says delete atleast one or two servers before. I vote for ROP

everyone says the new server will be perfect. Unless truely EVERYONE wants the server, like as people did with ga, it will fail in one way or another. get more support first.

I'm strongly against them. I feel like it would make the server unfair. If you must include them, make it so theres about 50 negs per port, and when those 50 are used it takes 3 days, and after those 3 days a new 'shipment' comes in with 50 more negs.

i found that negs were affected by demand and supply on TOS, i liked that.

If a new perma is released, make it smallish with a lot of fuel regen with somewhat smallish corp sizes, 4-6. 6 at the most. Also old layouts plz. a 15k pop cap would be cool and uncool at the same time, hard to say. I think I'd prefer 10k so not every colony and its mother is a 10/120. Earthes would be too good to be true on a 15k cap

Bardy.. it would be small.. small corps.. only old layouts.. and 50 ore per shot.. so 10/120s would be harder..
