Re: Can I get a Starport Banner for my Website?

4 years later, toonces, you found a solution for this yet? It was solved a while ago. Get the images here http://www.starportgame.com/banners.php Hot linking works great. Add your promo code to your site and you might even get some tokens out of it. Hey, moderators: how about we unsticky this one a...

Re: A FEW IDEAS

Idea 1: Yes. Idea 2: No. A planet w/o full def is already at a disadvantage, why make it worse? This just promotes the "120 or burn" gameplay we've seen too much. Full hardware shouldn't be a requirement. Idea 3: Yes, but also kill some of the dead permas at the same time. Idea 5(a): Not to be a sma...

Re: New Chat Tab!

Well, I see a consistency argument, but I don't really see the need. If I were just on to make sure I'm not getting invaded, I want to leave up the invasions tab. Also you can always type "/news 1" which does have a few other messages but won't be cluttered by chat and other chaff. If you've timed o...

Yes, we should have more research possibilities.

I like the first, but I'm not sold on the second. Isn't it basically the same as requiring less metal ore? And isn't that basically the same as Strip Mining?

Re: Quick Travelling

I really liked the idea with the time delay and the pod restriction, but then it got me thinking about how it could be abused. If someone owns a distant arm and has added laser walls, etc., can I now jump to the end of that arm, bypassing those defenses? Can I quick warp from a planet surface, from ...

Re: [IDEA] Galaxy Map minimap

I really like the idea, but your graphic sample uses far more detail than the mini map has available in a 1024x768 screen/window. I think you may need to go with a blinking scheme or something, there just isn't enough resolution to do it that way.

Re: Ideas Requested: Next Perma

Although I agree with the "noooooooooo" opinion, I am realistic - there will be more permas. Start by identifying the most stagnant, and set a "6 months remaining" countdown. This may reinvigorate these old ones too. For all new ones, give them an expiration date. Two years was mentioned, but I thin...

Re: Shields Generation for All?

I voted yes. But if you do, then the falcon will need a makeover. It turns established colonies into shield factories. Um, so what? You could haul some colony resources to a port, sell them, and then fully reshield. By dumping your resources you're getting pennies on the dollar, so it really isn't g...

Adding some English: For some long range projectile weapon (I don't really care which) you can curve the shots to the left or the right. This is a manual targeting, but you need to turn your ship to make it work, giving you both a tactical advantage and disadvantage. There are a few ways of impleme...

Re: New planet layout

Its a great thing to have new layouts coming all the time. I think this map has a couple of spots that are just too strong relative to the rest of it (see the red). Its ok to have a map with very strong defensive locations, but in that case the map should have lots of equally strong locations. Likew...

Death Ray Enhancement: I can't remember who to credit with this idea, but someone suggested the death ray be able to pop mines. If you aren't changing the death ray to be a longer range, then the ability to clear mines with minimal damage is an interesting enhancement. Flanking drones: Shoots out a...

A couple basic concepts, not full specs: Boomerang: Two rotating shapes go out about the distance of a grav, then each break to their respective sides about 300 degrees (this is angled back towards the firing ship slightly) going for an addition 1/2 grav distance. Getting hit by one obviously does h...

As the title says, show the player's promo code on their profile page. If you want to encourage their use, promo codes should be visible to all. [Idea] Corp member's ship

Have a ship that is specific to a member of a corp, not available to the CEO. Right now the CEO ship is the best choice until your exp allows for a sethdar or ISC (with some specialized exceptions such as vulturing). Everyone starts a personal corp to get the CEO ship, which effectively discourages ...

There was a similar idea a little while back to make the deathray able to remove mines. I liked that version because you have to be right next to the mine and therefore probably subject to laser/solar fire, which means it isn't too overpowered an advantage.

I've played both and can attest that the PAX Big Bang model is far superior to the never ending PAX servers.

Seems like a good machine. It should serve you well. 850 watts seems a bit much for the specs unless you're going to be stuffing in some extra hardware. It looks to me like 650 is more of the right size. I'm not a huge fan of overclocking. It voids warranties and can make troubleshooting a real pain...

Achievement points in Blitz

Give a small number of achievement points to the winner of Blitz. This idea is about new player retention, not about achievement point whoring. Rationale: When I mess around on Blitz there is always some new player who has worked very hard to be 1st, and they are furious when they find out they don'...
