"server not responding" for a rebang
Alright, just a quick question. I'm awaiting the rebang of "Deep Freeze" so I can get an early start. It's just about at the predicted time, and now in the server list, it says "Server not responding" Is this a common thing for a server going through it's "big bang" or has something gone horribly wr...

I like the idea in general, but.... I gotta agree, instant death trap. Your scenario of placing a trip wire close to the dome to block retreat... Two nukes to kill a section of wall... So I race in, fire off my 8 nukes and trip the wire only to turn around and face a wall that I cannot now destroy....

Uranium in space would be humorous. Perhaps getting hit with a nuke would even produce a message "Captain, uranium deposits have formed in our ship as a result of the nuke. We're shifting them to our cargo pods now." Meaning you can nuke your foe, but if they get away, they could profit from it. Wou...

Number one is a no-go in my book. Number two... how do you propose you get the information? Your planet isn't equipped with any sort of scanners, or perhaps that should be a new construction/research, *Surface scanners* which would not only allow you to do a "Surface scan* when viewing the planet vi...

The idea has potential, but not as is. A chunk of wall should be a single entity, much like a laser cannon, and taking up similar space. It could perhaps be a square that'd fill the slot. The wall would have health and could be destroyed, but would yield no exp for doing so. It'd not attack, just bl...

This wouldn't necessarily make aiming easier, however. You'd still have to have the side aimed at your enemy that you'd want to shoot at them, and since you fly forward or backward, it'd be even harder to aim a side-mounted weapon. Plus there's the matter of the additional energy cost as well as the...

The point is exactly as the idea is outlined. We don't all go for ISC or Seth, believe it or not. There are players even late into permas who prefer to use other ships for one reason or another. This would allow variety and multi-function. Sure the grav beam is great, but you've gotta be facing an e...

Well if they're such a big deal (I thought they'd be a minor inconvenience, just adding variety in turrets) why not make them MORE expensive? Same cost as laser cannons, or maybe even 10k or so MORE than that. Then, not only are you paying a higher cost, you're also sacrificing damage, for a weak sl...

Then no damage is fine with me. I thought the purpose of the research lab was for new ideas, and then for other people to make suggestions to help refine those ideas, the end result being ideally something that's good enough for the developers to use. Instead what I got were a few people ready to cr...

Well, it's a bit of a thin line for internet forums in general, I guess. If I DON'T read the rules somewhere, I'll say something that'll just HAPPEN to violate some obscure section of some rule, and it'll be the autoban for me. If I DO read the rules and try to stick to them, I get crap for it. Ther...

Perhaps you should play the game a while longer before making posts in the research lab regaurding colony defense. I just don't think you have quite enough exp invading planets to understand what losing 25 percent of your speed will do. Especially with sliding. And I think you shouldn't be making a...

The funny part is that every person who's voiced an opinion AGAINST it obviously hasn't even read my suggestion in full. It'd be a cannon that'd reduce your movement speed by 25% for three seconds. That's hardly unbalancing. The price isn't set in stone, I figured I'd start with a reasonable price a...

its not dickish, its fact! Toonces gave a reason for sliding, not for someone to come up with it and find ways to stop it, thats what we have compound mines for, we dont need new defences like this, we need trickier defences, better offences, and more importantly, better overall gameplay, simple as...
