I don't think their should be rules. It's called a 'Death Race'. Players start at Point A with whatever they want, First Person to get to Point B wins. Racers will be shootin' nukes at each other, they may have to decide if they want to reshield and possibly lose position, etc. That'd be pretty bada...

Do to normal mines what we did to negs.

You can find normal mines under aliens.
Normal mines cost 100 energy to deploy. (this wont affect much, but would allow to drop them somewhere at a much quicker rate.)

"Spock it, and lock it": Just about the geekiest way to say goodbye to a fellow human being. The gesture is done as each party presents the Vulcan 'live long and prosper' sign, and then interlocks their hands where the gap in between the fingers appears.

This would allow for plotting courses to avoid war torn areas with... maybe a lot of mines that you don't feel like hitting as you're watching TV?

Or how about this, you could plot courses that use black holes, thus saving time.

This is exploitable as well.

You get into a tight situation, you log out, log into another server, and have a buddy finish invading the planet you were on. All he has to do is let you know when you can come back.

It'd be a really cool option for those of us with unlimited texting.
It'd be even cooler if we could choose which alerts we receive.
And Even cooler if we could somehow send mails on specific servers through texting.

Other than the visuals, the crap on the right isn't really a problem. I'm more concerned about the playability. I still can't get starport to run from the 'GEClient'. I have to re-install every time I want to run it. After it's installed, it gives me the option of playing starport, which works. When...

Running Starport through X11. Notice off on the right is a part of the loading screen. It remains there through out the whole time playing in a weird gitchy half-animating state. On the Log-on screen it is very laggy, it takes awhile to get past it. http://i44.photobucket.com/albums/f7/elemayo/Pictu...

As far as the limits on money is concerned. I think that there should be a limit for the bank account, but not a limit for how much you can have on hand. Let the player decide how much they carry. You're taking a bigger risk by how much you carry anyway. This is just in general, not Emperor benefits...

Yes, a guy maintains it independently. It's the only Mac compatible wine that I know of.

I could use Method two to install Wine on a Mac, and I may try that later, but pre-built binaries seemed a lot easier, and I don't know why it wouldn't be compatible.

Ok, so in an attempt to get Starport running on my Mac, Naturally I ran into a few problems. First off, let me state that I'm using Darwine . I ran the SGE setup through it and it installed fine and all that jazz. It then prompted me to run SGE and I choose to do so. Initially nothing great happened...
