UN Protection

U.N. Protection is granted to all newly planted colonies. The length of protection varies on different servers but is usually between 3-5 days. While in U.N. protection your planet cannot be invaded. However, if you try to sleep on your planet then you will be charged standard UN taxes. You also have U. N. protection when you are in a system that says "UN Protection" and you can not fire any weapons or use ship hardware while you are there. If you try to sleep there you will be charged regular U.N taxes.
