United Nations Controlled Space

A group of 20 star systems surrounding the Sol system is known as United Nations Controlled Space. Here the authorities of Earth have managed to extend their control into space and enforce the peace. You cannot perform military actions in U.N.-Controlled Space, and hardware deployment is not allowed. This makes these systems a safe area to be in, especially when you need to go offline and leave your character to rest.

The U.N. charges a tax for staying in their space, which is assessed every hour of real time. The hourly rate of tax for parking in UN-Controlled Space is an amount of credits equal to a character's experience minus reputation.

Tax Rate: (experience - reputation) * hours offline

If your reputation exceeds your experience, you pay $1 per hour. Should your character run out of credits while parked in UN Space, his galactic bank account will be charged. Should the bank account run out of money, your character will be towed outside of UN Space.
