It seems to me like this kind of information should be in the community portal. Discussion pages are to discuss edits of pages or whether the information on the page is factual or belongs in a wiki.
You may have a point, but as seen from the previous history on this page, the Main Page talk is where people are actually leaving comments. I would rather have a page that is being read and used, than an unread page in the 'right' place. The popular pages count shows that the Community Portal only has 36 views as compared to almost 500 for the main page.

Alright then I posted this in the community portal I need some other opinions though Im not sure about it...
"So I was thinking we could maybe add some advice categories to certain pages,
In particular invasion, colony, the ships pages things like that where we would basically just add the category and the people would type in a few words (or longer) of advice and then sign their names at the bottom... I'm not sure though because these could very quickly become overrun with bad advice and/or be clogged down by too many people
I was thinking either add a category for this or add a seperate page and link to it from the page. If we did this we would be able to make grammar or factual edits but changing or removing a person's advice would need to be discussed in the discussion page first...
Not all pages would need or warrant advice though, but since this wiki is meant to help the newer uses I was thinking advice from people who have experienced this before might be useful. "
