From Starport: Galactic Empires

Use the following keys to control your ship and the SGE interface. For the list of chat box commands see Keyboard Commands.

Most of the controls listed below are defaults that can be overridden in the Options menu, or can have a second 'alternate' key assigned.

Ship Controls:

• Arrow Keys: Steering and Thrust
• CTRL  : Fire primary weapon
• TAB  : Fire special/secondary weapon
• Shift  : Turbo thrust
• F1  : Zoom Out
• F2  : Zoom In
• F4  : Auto-Jettison (all resources, not colonists or hardware)
• Delete  : Anchor Mode
• End  : Enter Mode
• Alt-S  : Use Scanners

Deploy Hardware:

• F5  : Fire Negotiator Missile
• F6  : Fire Nuke
• (Unassigned) : Fire Any Missile (nukes fire first)
• (Unassigned) : Lay Standard Mine
• (Unassigned) : Lay Compound Mine
• F7  : Lay Any Mine (compound mines deploy first)
• F3  : Deploy Laser Cannon
• (Unassigned) : Deploy Flak Cannon
• F8  : Deploy Any Cannon (lasers deploy first)
• F13  : Place a dome. Not all keyboards have an F13 key.

Radar:

• F9  : Switch to System Radar
• F10  : Switch to Galaxy Navigation Map
• F11  : Switch to Players-in-system List
• F12  : Switch to portrait view
• Alt-+  : Zoom in System Radar (Mouse Wheel works too)
• Alt--  : Zoom out System Radar (Mouse Wheel works too)

Text Input:

• Alt-Up Arrow  : Repeat last line you typed
• Alt-Left Arrow: Move cursor
• Alt-Delete  : Delete letter at cursor position
• Alt-Comma  : Switches tabs left
• Alt-Period  : Switches tabs right

Information Systems:

• Alt-G  : Toggle Galaxy Map (or "/map")
• Alt-P  : Toggle Personal Screen
• Alt-H  : Toggle Holdings
• Alt-T  : Toggle Ship Status
• Alt-W  : Toggle Who List
• Alt-R  : Toggle Rankings
• Alt-C  : Toggle Corp List
• Alt-J  : Toggle Jettison
• Alt-A  : Toggle Admiral's Club
• Alt-M  : Toggle Mailbox
• Alt-E  : Toggle the Starpedia Help System
• Alt-F  : Toggle frames-per-second display
• Esc  : Close an info window
