Great Space Race

The Great Space Race was an event held by Broken Monkey in Permaverse 1 on March 24th 2007 it was a galaxy wide race consisting of 117 hops with 6 checkpoints where you had to land on certain Broken Monkey colonies to mark that you where taking the right path. The Race had very large prizes consisting of BM colonies that where being given away after they conquered the entire server. Everyone piloted a standard Battleship and any weapons where aloud in the race. BM placed mines and laser cannons to obstruct the path and add a little bit of excitement and to disourage auto pilot. There were also several mercenaries on the path that were given free range to shoot down any ships that came their way. If you died anytime during the race you could reenter by flying back to the nearest starbase and getting another battleship.

The Grand Prize was 50 'zounds' (maxed colonies)
