Escort Missions
Similar to taxi missions, in the lounge of a starport you will sometimes find an NPC Captain looking for an escort to a different system. You will get a fee of $20,000 to $100,000 when he successfully reaches the starport in this system. You also gain experience and reputation. If the ship is destroyed enroute, you lose experience and reputation.
Once you accept, you will be returned to the space console display and the NPC ship will begin the journey. They are always labeled <yourname> escortee. You can follow him, or you have the option of just continuing on your own and hoping he makes it safely.
Simple commands can be given to the escortee:

/e go- tells your escortee to continue on his path -
/e come- tells your escortee to come to your location -
/e warp- tells your escortee to emergency warp (if he becomes stuck)
