Colony morale
From Starport: Galactic Empires
Morale
Colonies have a morale level that indicates the general mood of their citizens. Are they happy with their lives on this planet and hopeful for the future, or are they destitute and angry? Morale change rate affects reproduction rate, with optimistic populations growing their numbers more than pessimistic ones. Extremely low morale leads to revolt which will shut down a colony's productivity.
Morale generally goes down over time, but can be increased by a low tax rate setting. The radio receiver structure helps increase morale once built, as do the broadcast receiver and the artesian well. Additionally the government type can influence morale. Large populations have trouble maintaining good morale because people begin to feel crowded. The charisma attribute of the owner character, or characters in the case of a corporate-owned colony, slightly helps morale. Additionally, the supply of Medicine and Oil in the refinery is key to colonist morale.
The following is a list of morale levels from angriest to happiest, with any special affects that apply to that level of morale.
