The Bank at Star Bases is where characters can access their galactic bank account. Every character has an account that can be accessed from any of the 4 star bases. Storing credits in the bank account is safer than carrying them on your person because of the chance of attack. Your galactic bank account is the same no matter which Star Base's bank you are using. Credits in your bank account are automatically used to pay UN-Space parking taxes and Deep Space Inn charges if the credits on your person are exhausted while you are offline.

The /give text command performs online galactic banking. You can transfer credits from your bank account to another player's bank account. See Keyboard Commands for details.

Credits in the bank do not earn interest. Credits on colonies earn 1% interest compounded hourly, capped at a maximum of $30,000 earned from interest per hour, except while under U.N. protection or in PAX games.

The maximum amount of credits that a character can hold in his bank account or on his person is one hundred million.
