I was thinking about how great it would be if we could somehow colonize both Gas Giants and Tiny Worlds that are essentially useless clutter and convert them into something more useful.
For Gas Giants, instead of the traditional biodome, some sort of orbital platform with limited colonizing capacity would be interesting. Maybe only a certain number of colonists and/or a limited number of buildings that may be built on this colony. I have a few other ideas, but I wanted to see what the general reaction would be first.
For Tiny Worlds, we can try something like planetary scaffolding, which would allow traditional colonies to be built. It'd also have limited colonizing capacity like the Gas Giants. Since they are so small in size, they prolly will only support a limited number of planetary defenses as well. What would we do with these truncated colonies that are easier to take? They'd probably serve to function as little, expendable exp farms. Oh, and planetary scaffolding should cost a lot, considering well, it's practically enveloping the planetoid with metal and electronics.
What do all y'all think? For the builders, it'd give us something more to chew on, and this would help alleviate the concerns of running out of space on the Permaverse server by allowing existing planets to be colonized. It'd add new components of game play into starport while not drastically harming current game balance.
