cant start game up

Have no idea why but for some reason i double click the starport icon - but the game wont boot up.
it just comes up with the ' Starport Galactic Empires ' - Looking for game updates.
Now im screwed on the perma i play - is this just a problem i have or is it for everyone ?
Suggestions ?

Has been from saturday 7th right up until today - sunday 8th June 8(

Has anybody got any suggestions why i cant get onto starport ?
I had an issue with my computer loading it - so bought new one now - and still have the same issue.
I double click Starport icon and it comes up with , looking for updates' - but nothing happens.
Ive checked my firewall allows starport - and thats all fine, ive changed settings and nothing makes a difference

please help

I had to run as admin and in Windows 7 Compatibility Mode to get it to launch.

Ive tried that too - still nothing, is this something that is affecting everyone or just myself ?
