Glory, miss you! If you ever see this we Should play something sometime, even if not SGE!
Re: Nostalgiawave
I found it searching space games then 3 years after it was going I found it on my Maximum PC disc. I was Like Hey we are getting HUGE!! but from there and the next couple of years people just quit playing.
I bounce in and out But seriously I hate that when I do make the decision to play and then a few weeks in the server has so much problems you can't even fly.
It makes me rethink.
All this and the troubles could have been contained had it not just had one server that he tested on and had a few elite players play on it to give review and input.
All I am saying is It could have been even greater than it was/is.

Re: Nostalgiawave
I forgot how I found this game exactly but I know I was part of MMORPG.COM when SPGE was there too so probably heard about it from there when I was searching for an extra game to play after Stellar Frontier was giving me a bunch of pressure because I led a Fleet There and stuff so SPGE was my Vacation Game which eventually turned into Starwynd/Ace aka XxXGohanXxX there migrating players from Stellar Frontier to SPGE. The reason we were so good at playing was partly due to our endless hours of practice aiming at Lag-Shadows and Lag-Shooting in Stellar Frontier which we loved. So SPGE was fresh and didn't lag as much and virtually had no problems at the time when we came to SPGE. Well all asides from the minor lag that seemed to appear from riding the border at that time. After playing a bunch I introduced Starwynd, tauniverse and Bacchus, killer, die and others to the game who in turn introduced others.
Fond memories indeed all

Look at today
These days games like star citizen and elite dangerous are so popular.
They are the modern day version of starport

On a whim I started feeling all nostalgic, and just thought "Sure, why not see if the website is still up." I was not disappointed.
How cool would it be to get an Android port. lol

...oh my god, I almost forgot about SGE.
I hope everyone is okay. It's been a long time.

I think at some point I managed to piss off a ton of mods. I don't remember what happened, but I nuked all of my PMs to avoid reliving that really... weird, time of my life again.
It's good to hear from you.

Re: Nostalgiawave
You are right about part of the problem. The community is one of the reasons for the game going to BBQ yes. That wasn't always the case. At one point the community was decent. But toonces choosing to side with the money makers over the majority of the community chased all the good people away and left behind mostly the toxic trash like you. Now you have a game that at peak hours MAYBE hits 25 people online across ALL servers with a majority of the people playing being either vets desperately hanging onto the past or the toxic portion of the community that at one point was diluted by the rest.

Just checking in again. How I wish we could go back in time.
Re: Nostalgiawave
SGE is a neat time capsule. I can't believe a lot of it has stayed mostly the same.
My crummy Windows 10 laptop has problems running it. Would be fun to try again one day once all of these Microsoft updates sort themselves out.
These forums threads are so fun to read. I'd come home to it back then and see what all everyone's posted, before I got too catty and left after managing to piss almost everyone off, I think?
You guys are great for hanging in there. Keep flyin'
