Proposed ideas for Blitz

Postby 0zzy » Sat Jan 28, 2012 7:52 am

1. If a corpie logs off for more than 3 minutes, his money should be redistributed to the rest of his team.

2. If the teams aren't balanced in terms of players; 1 player should be allowed to join late in the game to even this out.

3. Slightly reduce mod prices, so they become a little more used in blitz, seems currently the only people with funds available to use them are IGS/Token players.

What do you think?

I like it, especially since noone will be playing permas after February 3rd.

But Ozzy since you don't play permas, what you say about them can't possibly carry weight:

Ozzy wrote:At the end of the day, the people who dont contribute to the game shouldn't have any say in the game.

People saying what should be done about something they don't care about is what got SGE to the place it's in right now:

On the impending rocky nerf, 0zzy wrote:I'm all for radical changes. Go for it.

Then again, like I care if most of the above's empires are ripped to shreds.

That'd be like me saying I think last blitz seasons rating system was fine and should never have been changed  You know, the one that ruined 2 months of blitz.

QFT

Well said PJ, all the armchair quarterbacks have so much to say about the direction of this game and they don't even participate in it.

If you do not participate in the Starport community then shut the f uck up and don't pitch some ideas that ruin the game. I sometimes think that this is done on purpose just so non players can get a chuckle. Like PJ said all the retarded ideas that people came up with had no business being implemented especially when they don't even play permas active.

Tbh PJ, you have way to much time on your hands to trawl through every post I've made in the last month.

I just think people moaning is getting old now, 90% of the people on the forums dont pay tokens, yet are 90% of the moaning.

Deal with change. It happens.

Every post you've made in the last month eh.. try 3 days.. from the top threads on the first page

Don't divert attention after I made you look stupid with your own words... which I'll do again in just a moment:

0zzy wrote:I just think people moaning is getting old now, 90% of the people on the forums dont pay tokens, yet are 90% of the moaning.

And you came to this conclusion how? Oh I guess it might have been that a lot of people are complaining that the double domes they bought with their own money could be worthless. yea certainly sounds like the people complaining don't buy tokens.

You'd still have no way of knowing who on the forums buys and who doesn't, so the above quote is idiotic anyway.

0zzy wrote:Deal with change. It happens.

Change, even difficult change, is fine and should be endured when it is necessary, and done for the purpose of bettering whatever is being affected. If the company you work for changes your hours a bit, or makes you use you use your own vacation days on holidays, you grumble but you still go to work cause you get paid.

With video games and online gaming, that logic regarding change is skewed. People who play (and in the case of many with SGE), pay for fun and entertainment shouldn't have to endure constant unfavorable changes. They shouldn't have to wonder, is this the change that will make me quit?

Of course we all could endure change, but when it's in a game your supposed to be playing for fun, it's not a question of whether you could endure it, but whether it's worth it to endure it: will in any way benefit the game and make it more enjoyable in the long run? SGE players are scared of every new patch - there are plenty of other games where people are excited and eager for updates updates because they know they will be well-thought out, meaningful changes that help the game. SGE players constantly wonder whether they will stay after pretty much every patch.

SGE has a proven track record of having major patches flop, and at the very best, do nothing for the game while managing to alienate dozens of players each time. Toonces has always promised that they will help SGE in the long run, but that obviously hasn't panned out. If they had, I would agree that short term pains would be worth a better game long term, but the track record proves that never happens.

So the question is: Should we have to 'deal with' patches that slowly but surely make the game less fun to play?

The countless answers of "no!" from the multitudes that have quit will be answered by fewer and fewer retorts of "yes!" after every patch.

I don't see how you're making me look stupid... it is true that no one should have to deal with the infavourable changes, but 'infavourable' is subjective. Maybe Toonces is making more revenue and maybe new noobs, who potentially dish out more tokens, will find it favorable because they can now invade easier.

More importantly, go rage about these changes on the other thread, this thread is about blitz.

Glad you like them Ozzy, I've got some more!

Additional Ideas for Blitz:

-10 tokens deducted for every hour offline

-10 rating points deducted for every hour offline, both to encourage activity

-10/120 solar cannon instantly rush-able free of cost and without delay to whoever captures the colony first.

-For a cost of 200 tokens, you can double dome any colony your team owns

-Price increase of everything by 100%, this will make certain mods, weapons, and ships less common and thus provide for more strategic and meaningful gameplay.

I talked to toonces about some of these ideas as well as my previous ones and he liked several of them :)

Nice, it's about time we got some well thought out ideas that everyone is going to enjoy :)

Toonces please implement all of these blitz ideas the next patch please, and also have them apply to all of the other servers. I predict that hundreds....no wait thousands of new players are going to start playing this game if all you do is add these changes.

Thanks to PJ, Toonces is going to be a millionaire overnite. Now that's a wonderful rags to riches story everyone will love.

~A Hypothetical situation~

Player Base: And please finish us off by increasing solar cannone shot costs to 150 per burst :D

Toonces: What?! They want this stuff now? o.O

New Update! - SGE has been reverted to 2007 Specifications!

Doesn't it seem like toonces is messing with all of us?

I have the best idea yet, instead of the solar costing 150 ore/hour it should be changed to 150 tokens per burst.

If you had the 10 rating points deducted for every hour offline people would be losing 100s of points a day.
