Using solar sails and there benefits

I have noticed that solar sails give you a 0.3 reduction in fuel cost but when i look at fuel it seems to be measured in single units. I currently have 7 fitted to a fast ship which gives me a warp cost of 3.9, but each jump costs me 4 fuel

Question

does this mean that i am losing 0.1 of fuel in every jump or does the fuel guage keep track of fractions and every tenthed jump it will only cost me 3 fuel


If it does not can you tell me if it rounds the fuel cost up or down (3.9 is upped to 4 or 4.2 is downed to 3 etc)

Question

Could you tell me what a single point of wisdon takes away from the fuel costs. I have 10 in wisdom which shaves 2 points off each jump but this is only cost effective if each point takes away 0.2 fuel of a jump. if it is any higher then i might be being rounded down

the guage only shows fuel in whole numbers. so yes. every 10th hop you should get a jump for only 3 fuel.
