Can't deploy Biodome

I have been playing this game for just over a week and I like it. I can't actually colonise a planet, because every time I try to deploy a Biodome kit, I get an error message saying I can't deploy a Biodome kit on a tiny or gas giant planet. The planets I have tried are of different sizes, but what I have noticed quite a few times now is that planets of the same size have been colonized by other players.

Please can someone tell me what I am doing wrong? I have had all the right kit when I have tried, but it is still not interested.

u can only colonize reg planets not colonized already cant do it on tiny or gas giants

I have been trying to on planets that haven't been colonised, but it still isn't working. Tiny planets is OK, but the uncolonised planets that I have tried to colonise, which are the same size as planets that other people have colonised, still come up with this error.

if you have lag issues it wont let you deploy. I remember my first week of playing the game i had horrendous lag and it wouldnt let me deploy bio on my first col.

I have had lag problems since the start and dodgy packet loss too, which has caused some problems. My packet loss is 0% at the moment but lag is 187ms. How can I reduce this? I have just tried again and still get same error.

Ok, the "normal-sized planets", they are not gas giants are they?

Yes actually they are - they didn’t seem gigantic to me!!! I did spot that and managed to inadvertently capture a planet that I was trying to colonise. They didn't have any defences, like the few times I was killed landing on some planets before realising that it does tell you that it is colonised!!! I have also managed to colonise my first planet, although that was not doing that well, but was too knackered to sort it out at 3am!! I shall have a look in help now.

Don't be fooled by the actual size of the planet onscreen. Gas giants and tinys vary in size, so go by the actual planet image. You should be able to find some empty ones farther away from Sol and the bases, although you'll have to go a lot farther on a perma.

Yah... everytime you go in a planet it tells you the name and what type it is. Also there are some planets with dead colonies, those you can't place a bio dome cuz for some reason the game says the colony exists... Colonising is very hard if you don't know what you're doing. But ppl can always learn by doing ^^.
