IDEA: The Boundless improvement topic

Post by General_Neox » Wed Mar 22, 2006 5:48 pm

I think Toonces should do to boundless what he did to perma1. I mean, not the same changes but just improve it in general. I dont know if uve noticed it but since perma got improved (20 corp size) boundless has been the underdog of player activity. I'll put in a poll after i hear a few suggestions from the community and mail this page to toonces if its popular and give a "dont improve boundless" option to the poll.

Yes Boundless is maybe the most dead perma right now :?

Hmm keep corp sizes the same but I think the galaxy should be flooded with 100's of admiral and dread-pirate NPCs :P They would go around in packs hunting players or being hunted by players who would be able to enjoy ascending the rankings killing these things as they would offer much more xp than the pitiful rewards of Ensign and Thief NPCs.

Or maybe...

This is crazy but would really result in an explosion of activity in Boundless, and would "uncarebear" it.

All planets in UN-territory become IGP's. And colonisable.

Twisted Evil

Yet again, extreme overkill. DO some light changes like permaverse

I see that "add something new" is favourite. This isn't really something for just one server but for the whole game.

That's just the communities wish for a real gameplay improvement, nothing to do with Boundless.

I happen to like Boundless. Maybe a few more NPC's or add something new (as a beta server). I don't see how Boundless seems to always be considered a "newb" server or "carebear" as some might put it. The rules remain the same for Boundless as they do other servers. Just because people want to corp with the rest of the Galaxy and it is a 4 person corp server doesn't make it any better or worse.

Me and a few other people would like to see a two and a three person corp servers. How about a "every man or woman for him/herself" server?

Seems to me that the huge corp servers are too easy when you have more than 3 players on at the same time.

Boundless Is my favourite server too.

Yes, definitely up the corp size! 6 should the very miniumum (more like 8 )
The amount of NPC's should be increased (perhaps 200-300) just so that it isn't known as the "newbie perma server"

Boundless is less aggressive and if an experienced player goes on it could get 50 colonies in his first day without much effort. It's almost as if boundless palyers don't defend their domes or even lay defenses at all for that matter.

That's not the server; sounds more like the people there aren't cutthroat. :P Get enough agressive guys on boundless and watch it turn like any aggressive server. But really, Boundless is fine for those who don't want the agressiveness of, say, Battle Royale but want some PvP and thus won't play PAX.

what happened is that all the good players were busy with huge empires on other permas. boundless sea is where losers that got crushed from the real servers flocked to. i mean 2k was considered the most influential/powerful player there, what does that tell you?

do not worry though, after im done with perma 1, i will come revitalize all of your other servers.

Unfortunately I can only speak for myself,

No I do not 'love' boundless. I had a small experience but got bored to death and left after my first day of 'trying' it out.

<cough> Can't say I didn't give it a shot.... just look arround for Starwynd's various posts about Boundless adventure [not really an adventure, just a "wow these folks have lots to learn"]

Boundless was cool at the start, but died at the creation of all the new perma's. Improving boundless woudn't make much sense, nobody is gonna play is anyway even with a 1000 npc's, better to delete it and make a new perma with 100 npc's

If you get killed, you're dead. end of story. None of this podding then going to sol business. You have to make new character and start over. And you must choose different name each time.

That's permadeath, and no, do not add it. It's a bad idea.

WHY is it a bad idea?

It would make conflicts a lot... Smarter. And deadlier.

lol, I love it, but give people 10 lives or something so they would be allowed the occasional kamikaze mavouvre or glitch related death.

Mmmh. You're right, there are glitch related deaths. How about a 1 week deaht? You die the second time, you can't play for a week. Or something in that order. Next time its 2 weeks, time after that 4 weeks...

Thats gay as hell madace who in their right mind would want that implemented!?

Yes I love boundless it is my favorite server also, and yes I agree something new should happen in boundless to keep it alive.

More NPCs and bigger corps would help it out in my opinion, or something Fresh, or even something that hasn't been done Before!!!

Just my opinion...

You haven't stated any arguments WHY permadeath is crap.
