Fleets
The contracting system can stay.
However on a temporary scale, it would be nice if players could join a "fleet" making them temporarily blue so long as they are in the fleet.
Fleet commander can invite players into the fleet and those players can go on invading/ fighting with more ease without the complication of contracting or third party contracts.

Make available in trade and have a /fleet chat would be mint for alliances and wars. /f alone could display everyone in current fleet and their locations. And you can only be in one fleet at a time. Something as simple as not shooting eachother when your trying to team up shouldn't be the frustrating clusterfuc.k contracting represents nowadays

great idea. would there just be mutual blue-ness? perhaps access to wep factories? a kick timer? (kick player xyz after
blank hours, that way they can invade a bit after you are gone and not hug you up with your own weps should their loyalty be suspect).
