Shields Generation for All?

The Falcon can jettison any resource type to create a small amount of shields when in space. This is usually done using the F4 or other assigned key to "jettison all".

Should this ability be given to every ship?

Aw come on. The only decent feature if the Falcon...

It'd counteract the shields going up in price in ports.
It'd increase inflation (shields cost money).

What'sthe point? (not saying there isn't any, just wondering)

If this happens rebangs will change because instead of using money on shields they will use their resourses.

I voted yes. But if you do, then the falcon will need a makeover.

Um, so what? You could haul some colony resources to a port, sell them, and then fully reshield. By dumping your resources you're getting pennies on the dollar, so it really isn't game changer.

It would make for a slight change in dynamics when fighting. I like it.

Question: Can you jet resources when in a duel? I've never tried a duel in a falcon.

Instead of giving other ships the sheild furnace - why not boost the effectiveness of the shield furnace on the falcon before you try and mate it with another ship?

There you go, that's the problem. It is currently almost impossible to kill a skilled fighter who knows what he is doing without severely outnumbering him. With this implemented, it will be even harder...

Instead I'd rather have Madace's version of making falcons produce tradeable shield batteries.

That is not true. In reality, you need to be outside in space. Thus, if you are defending a planet, it won't be that convenient.

Yes Toonces, it should. But perhaps make the falcon able to get more out of it, or maybe generate more fuel?



EDIT: However....what if you were in a ISC for example..with 150 resoucres...if your at 0% shields..if you jettisoned 1 resource..you could withstand a nuke right? If im not mistaken? Its late..maybe i am

If I remember right the amount of shields you get from the shield furnace on the Falcon is pretty insignificant, it seems like it would hardly matter if this were included in every ship in the game.

Would you change its effectiveness or how it works at all?

That applies to spicing for fuel alone, Im pretty sure it dosen't apply for the falcons shield furnace

Not really insignificant. If you are in a port with a falcon, it is much cheaper just to buy resources for shields than the actual shields themselves.
