Or you can do it the original way...I usually make about 3-5 mil day 0 and use about 1200 fuel

Taxi until enough for dream sower/galaxy whale and some cargo holds, spot check in controlled systems and check port buying/selling prices of ALL resources (not just big money resources) if you find some good ones, run them only a couple of times, exit in controlled, planet hop and kill aliens, selling resources to ports (at 5 resource per alien, this adds up quick and is a very good way to make a decent chunk of change) try for some arti locs, and sell them to port works like a charm for me! Hope it will do the same for you!

Now days it is too easy to make money on starport. For example: One superconductor can be sold for 1,800,000 to all ports for the same price: Ig suits can be sold for 1,000,000 at any port for the same price. Two artifact sales and you got a good start, 2,800,000 for 2 good artifacts. Before you couldnt sell arties to ports so you had to taxi or trade. Now taxi is pointless, but trading isnt because you can get cargo bulkheads and make a 200 hold vessle to a 325 cargo vessle, very hefty for trades with a spice trade you can make 350k to 400k one sale. Hope this is a help to new starport players.

FYI for anyone checking this thread. Currently you don't make much off of selling artifacts to ports, so no one is going to make a fortune with that tactic. You still need to trade, kill NPC and make money the old ways.
