:HELP: problem buying weapons

basically every time i try to buy better guns for my ship it keeps telling me i can't because there is no room on my ship for it, and im stuck with the pea shooter which is no good, if anyone could help it would be brill

You have to jettison a weapon/mod. you can only have 8 weapons or mods equipped to your ship.

To do this go to Orders on the top of the screen, then jettison, then scroll to the bottom and click on something you don't want/need and jet it. Then buy a new weapon.
