Nice little guide man, but I must say this... no matter how you defend a colony it can be taken. In my experience the easiest way to keep them from being taken on a regular basis is just to make your defense a pain in the donkey so so speak. Most people will not attempt to take a colony if you make it simply nothing more than a pain in the donkey to take. But all of that is dependable upon the layout and dome placement.
I do agree however, dome placement is the key to success for any colony defense.

cmining the closest port and systems would be a dead give away you have a col there lol, AFTER people find your col, do that, or theres no point in building in obscure areastekkamanblade wrote:location, location, location. placing that starter planet in the middle of no where (as opposed to the un border) and it will be harder to find. place your world far from ports and it will take invaders much more fuel and time to conquer them. especially if the port and the systems between are stacked to the hardware limit with cmines.
