Was i the only one hoping that mau was gonna emp you on the way in?

He sometimes fires nukes at me but they tend to not have any effect as he is in corp.

Btw, we do this all the time. Someone asked for a "button to test fire defenses", well, this is it.
Generally when tux and I invade, i take the dome for the rep drop, then he takes the dome after a /takecolony

fraps lags my BBQ laptop too much. I'm afraid to slide with it, but ill try. Also id like to point out you can gauge how bad the person in the vid is lagging by how long the exhaust trail on their ship is.

Ok, there is nothing new in this movie but thought i would make it for all you guys who are new to invading, first time i landed on a superwide i nearly wet myself with fear, however they are actually quick and easy to take...
This one only cost me 10 nukes at warp to make a little gap and 12 nukes at dome..
They are intimidating at first but give it a go

technical advice here please
i installed fraps, ready to records plenty, but i am really not happy with the lag it gives. even without sound, 1/2 size and small amount of frames second, in the game i go from 60 frame/sec to 30 as soon as i start recording.
is that normal really?

Unfortunately yes, my fps can drop as low as 18-20 when there are a lot of lasers around
Give it a go though, would love to see some other peeps posting movies, i know that caps are a lot harder whilst running fraps so dont worry bout how good it is

Nice one popcorn, nice too see someone new posting vids
Caps are definetly harder with fraps so it takes a little getting used to.

Duece barely managed to fit this into the 30 second clip. He was not aware he was being filmed, this is real footage of duece in his natural environment

Part of starport is also to help and teach each other.

), he is learning and getting better everyday.
the cap doesnt lok clean on video, but nevertheless a good cap and good planet

Good good guys, I see a lot of great videos here especially by Rancores and Moleman, good job.
Good thing you stickied this stuff Moleman, I think a lot of new players learn from this. My experience is that more players become really good at this game making a more intresting and fun gameplay and I think these movies really help out some people.
Keep at it guys.

Lot of newbies wonder how their "well defended" planet get taken out easily, well here is and example of it and why dome defences are crucial
Devila does the slide and cap, as usual i get my paint scratched by the solar
