Currently we have on Blitz a IG Ship Kill counter in the player stats, can something like this be added to a perma?

I was thinking maybe adding a Double Dome Capture counter to the stat screen. It would show who's a decent invader and who isn't. Also maybe a 1v1 winner/loser counter if possible. Colonies completely built could be another.

Reason being is there is nothing to set apart noob players from good players in the current stat screen layout we have. The only thing that reflects what a player actually does is how many followers they have, not how they actually got them. Maybe add extra achievement points for Double Domes captured?


Add to this idea, maybe Toonce can put something else in that we would want.

Although i like the idea of DD badges, first of all, This is what i see happening..Friends taking turns capping there own DD on 0 milit and 0 solar to get 100 badges in one day. :/

until there is a magical ability-detector, anything measurable in-game will never be a true indication of skill. Stats can almost always be padded. Exp. Rep. Colonies. Achievement. These things only establish that a player plays the game - they can still be a 'pro' or a noob.

a simply 'deaths' tally would be a better addition to permas than an 'ig kills' one. That way people would have a K/D ratio. which of course could be padded. But an 'ig kills' stat isn't really fair - what if all the good players have igs and the noobs don't? Even if the noobs died twice as much, they'd still kill the good players a bit and get more ig kills. That stat would only indicate skill if an equal amount of noobs and 'pros' had igs on every server at one given time. And theoretically there's no reason why that shouldn't be the case - noobs think they're boss in an igs and good players can use it to amplify their abilities - but sge is too small a game for theories in terms of player logistics - take GA for example - WAY more good players have igs than noobs do, for whatever reason. On the other hand, the dead permas are populated by noobs running around in igs.

Until there is an official '1v1' option for a duel, or a 1v1 server, 1v1 kills and losses would be impossible to measure. What constitutes a 1v1? how would the game tell between a random fight and a 1v1?

Capping your friends' dds is what would happen with any sort of dd caps stat. of course he could think up of some elaborate detection process where all defenses would have to register as being destroyed, the solar would have to be at least 9/100, etc. Also, some dds are harder than others! some are easy as BBQ! how would shitty dds be distinguished from 'good' or 'hard' ones? That would be a shitload of programming.

the amount of code required to measure skill would be extreme even when toonces had a whole team. He isn't going to be doing anything that anytime soon - not a slight to him just being practical - if somehow he can code this then go for it though!

Could also have followers invaded, time spent invading (so you could tell if someone just capped 5 mil of turned off cols, or bought them) and only time on colonies that you capped taken into that number (so you couldn't just sit on a junker after buying a huge empire to try and make yourself look like a beast invader).

and again, colonies built would be good, but how does SGE know what fully building a colony constitutes? when the final building is completed? being on a colony for x amount of minutes? A combination of both?

unless you have a perfect system of detecting and quantifying the specific aspects of the game that make up 'skill,' noobs can manipulate their stats. For example if the 'colonies built' stat was based off of rushing the final building of a col you could have your friend trade you a bunch of almost finished cols and then rush the last building.

It will probably be abused but anyone who knows anything knows who the noobs are and who the good players are. I don't think someones gonna sit there and move all the defenses just so a friend would cap the col. If someone wants to waste a half hour doing this then let them do it. This is stopped by having it only register once per dd per col like we have with exp already. Also most ppl that are friends are on contractors...just make it so a contractor does not register a dd capture right after breaking contracts. Also with the way contracts is nerfed it would be dumb to screw up contracts just to cap some dd's.If someone caps a col they get exp and rep loss/gain but if someone else caps it right after you get nothing. so the system is in place it just needs to be fine tuned.

We talked about vet badges a while back, what about a achievement bonus. if u have 5k achiev u get a bronze star, 10k u get a silver star...gold star would be 20k. Also some sort of designation for people that have been playing for a long time......3 months active it shows something in profile and it goes up from there.


The ideas need work but it would be nice to have a indicator of who is actually good in the game not having it a reflection of all the exp made off of token bought cols. The exp concept in a perma plus achievements really amounts to nothing. Even thou the majority of players play permas the ranking system has always been biased towards rebangers via medals and cups. I think it's time that the people that put the hard work into permas get something out of it.
