And alas, a great server is now gone. Good luck and God bless to those who will still play this game... the torch is now officially passed onto my son.

I believe it was the first 10k pop serve. It was epic in its own right. you needed 100mil just to be in the top ten. I was there i the first two weeks it came out but didn't last. But All good things must come to an end as they say. RIP Classics

And now Boundless and P1 are now the last two servers servers that have been around since the earliest times of starport.

Dark Future as well. After classics banged, DF was mysteriously a 10k pop server. Toonces fixed it about 6 months later.

Classic Homeworlds and Golden Age were my favorite all time servers. So many memories, great friendships and the BEST teamwork I've seen on any of the servers I played. Thorin and everyone he brought into our corp were great players, trusted and loyal to the end. Thorin worked very hard on that server as did many others and they deserve more than the medals they received for their profiles. They were the backbone of the server.

I was so sad to see it go, I couldn't bring myself to log in and watch it end. I logged in the night before and gave it a silent salute goodbye. I doubt I'll ever feel the same toward another server again. I will remember it with a smile. I played it for over 3 years, from the first day it started. I shall most likely play rebangs after the New Year when things settle down again. I feel like I'm in a mourning period where I simply don't have the desire to let go completely, but I still want to play.

A big salute to EVERYONE on Classics that made it what it was, an EPIC server.

All I can say is it's a sad day for Starport. The death of an Epic server like Classic is very unfortunate. The one good thing about quitting back when I did was not seeing all my hard work go to waste. I'll stick to rebangs me thinks. At lest you know the end will come and when. No point playing a perma without any assurances that it will actually last. R.I.P. Classic, P2 and P3.

Classics was fun. I had quite a few epic 1v1's on that server, along with some epic space fights. /salute classics. It'd still be alive had it actually been classic. :(

The tourneys are supposed to appear automatically when the perma closes. How many did people receive vs how many they were supposed to?

be happy u got any...? thers so many tourney points going around everyone is in ig ship...the ship is no longer any fun to fly lol. no need to buy tokens anymore either.just buy them off someone.plus since the top 25 on blitz gets tourneys and it will most likely be the same ppl every season there will be tons of tourneys everywhere.

Y/day I got a pm from toonces.
Toonces wrote:Was there an error with how many tourney points were dispensed to the top 25 when classic homeworlds closed?
The guy who owns and runs the game asking me was there an error, WTF? When was I promoted to Chief Coder?

This was my reply.
Dr.Strangelove wrote:Yea there was an error. i was short 7 tp's. Mk was short 6. Ken was short more. from what i can c 3 tp's were given out to each person regardless of where they finished. I could b wrong about the exact numbers. We have tried many diffent ways of bringing this to your attention and have all but given up. I notice also that my thread about me quiting has been deleted.
Are we supposed to believe that y'day was the first that Toonces knew of this? Who has been running the game since the 21th of Dec then?
I also wrote a thread saying I was retiring from the game over this situation as I was upset with it and like magic the thread dissapeared.
I wonder if this reply will do a magic trick too?
