Iv'e been pondering over the past 6 weeks ( haven't been playing SGE for some time now ), and this threads really been bugging me ..... so here it is :

1) All time funniest guy ever to bless Starport . . . has to be - Talak Winstar ( we told him to kill Aliens in 2007 Starport Champs - and he was doing it for almost 5 days - funny as hell )
2) Most intimidating Player on Starport - admit it ... Vegabond. - cracking player and in my opinion 99.9 % of Starport's community just doesn't give this guy the credit he deserves. - Top 10 Player.
3) Ultimate Builder ( by that i mean SOLO - using their own time and tactics ( post 2007 )) To be honest i think MJS edges it .. although Biodome was phasing out in 2007 ? - also a great Builder.
4) Best Invader ( pre 2008 ) Moleman. - Give the guy a Captains Stash and Seth - and he'd take a 10 / 120 DD solo. - without Port Negs and Mods.
5) Most admired Player within Starport ( since it's birth ) Kwijibo
6) Best Solo Player ( rebanger ) MJS
7) Best Solo Player ( Perma's ) Altair

2012 Champs is round the corner ..... Lots of names in the hat to win this year :

Chico.X - unlucky last year .. although i think his names in the hat for the crown.
Starblazer - i sooooo hope he plays this year ...definate contender for the crown.

Come on all - Participate in this years 2012 Starport Championships and help your friends and maybe go for a cup yourself .

A lot of familiar, good, solid players on these lists. Many different strengths among them. Some were all around good players, some had specific areas they were amazing in. The names change over time, some remain as players, and some as memories of good times, or hard times. lol

Too many people to give credit to in the last 6 years, and frankly if you never played with someone you might not be as likely to nominate them as a "vet", but that doesn't diminish the possibilities of those that never made "the list". Some that won't ever make the lists, were just as solid, and dedicated. Popularity, or infamy get you rememered as faster than actual deeds. Amazing players can be brought down and forgotten over time, and replaced with more active ones with similar skill sets. If they survive more than a couple of years, they'll begin to become less forgettable, and more memorable as you grow accustomed to them and get to know their playing style.

Ok let me elaborate - what i meant was i believe Altair is not only under-rated because of others disliking him ( generally felt because he actually IS a very good player ), but i genuinely believe his capabilities would match the very best of current Starport Players - if not surpass them, if it was all on an even playing field solo on a Perma.

I have Players on Starport i like - and some i have reservations about - generally because of their gameplay and how irritable they are to me - Altair and I had a spat for some time and once it was sorted i began to realise just why i didn't get on with him so much. it was because he posed the biggest threat to my goal.
Altair is totally under-rated as a player on here, and i don't believe that's fair because the reason he doesn't get the credit is because he poses the biggest threat to the better Players.
Iv'e admitted it - about time we all did.
Chef - you my little Rock Lobster, Starport Champ 2010 and has been a great priviledge too play alongside you. /salute
