I think it's an interesting idea, but it wouldn't be much different from servers currently offered. Probably not enough to justify a new galaxy at this point.

Maybe it's an intermittent problem with your internet connection. Try typing /ping when the problem is happening, and see if you have any packetloss, or if your latency is over 200ms.

I'm not sure that this is only happening to me, but when I attempt to change my refinery sliders, the game shows them moving around, but if I leave the colony and come back to it the sliders have reset to what they were previously before I changed them. Sometimes this can be caused by an input device attached to your computer, such as a joystick, gamepad, or driving wheel. If that's the case you can try either unplugging the device, or making it work with Starport in the Options screen.

btw I agree about space lasers being kind of aggro. I have made a change to make NPC's better at killing them.

Have you tried turning on compatibility mode Windows 7 or Windows XP? Right-Click your desktop shortcut and edit the properties/compatiblity settings
